Rosacea is an inflammatory disorder of the blood vessels of the face. It has a higher incidence in people of Celtic heritage, but anyone can be affected. In reality, genetic, environmental, vascular, and inflammatory factors are all at play.

Frequent flushing or blushing is the hallmark of rosacea. This redness that starts off as flushing tends to become more permanent over time and eventually leads to telangiectasia--persistently red blood vessels on the face. Additional characteristics include red papules or pustules on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin; aggravation by heat (be it internal (spicy food) or external (sun exposure, hot weather)); sensitive skin; and ocular involvement.

Chinese medical texts have documented the treatment of rosacea for at least 2000 years. Our treatment approach is like that of every other condition--we take into consideration the specifics of your rosacea presentation and constitution and come up with a treatment plan designed specifically for you.
